歐巴馬演說
Two hundred and twenty one years ago, in a hall that still stands across the street, a group of men gathered and, with these simple words, launched America's improbable experiment in democracy.

Farmers and scholars; statesmen and patriots who had traveled across an ocean to escape tyranny and persecution finally made real their declaration of independence at a Philadelphia convention that lasted through the spring of 1787.

The document they produced was eventually signed but ultimately unfinished. It was stained by this nation's original sin of slavery, a question that divided the colonies and brought the convention to a stalemate until the founders chose to allow the slave trade to continue for at least 20 more years, and to leave any final resolution to future generations.

Of course, the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution -- a Constitution that had at its very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.

親自去聽現場的聲音
要證明假設，需要蒐集什麼資料？為了取得資料，又該做什麼樣的實驗？這些內容我在前一章都已經談過了。接下來我要說的是實驗計劃法的手法。在現場我們常可以聽到有人說「這種電話，我已經接了五百通了。」「那我和業務員一起直接去找客戶問個清楚吧!」雖然這種話聽起了好像已經是「結論」，但是你還是得把它們當成是「假設」’並且在表示已經了解狀況的情形下，立即進行檢證。(假裝了解，進行檢證。)
這個時候，你就不能使用公司內部營業部長問營業所長、營業所長間業務員的垂直系統。用這套舊有的系統，你將聽不到現場業務員以獨立第三者所發出的聲音。因為業務員知道上級在期待什麼，所以回答你的話，一定是配合上級期待的「公式答案」。如此一來，會讓你誤以為「現場就是如此可並以此為證據，導出錯誤的結論。
